I didn't realize that KDE was so heavy.  Is Gnome fundamentally lighter 
than KDE?  I'll make a note of the lighter approaches and in the 
meantime, I've disconnected that old 200MHz DEC and hooked up a Y7,800 
Fujitsu I bought today at Otto (667MHz P-III, 512MB RAM, 10GB HDD).  I 
like KDE, so I'll try it on the Fujitsu and then - when I get time and 
KVM switching space, I'll hook up the DEC again and see what I can do 
with it.  I'd like to keep the DEC going - just for the history of it if 
nothing else.
