After one year, it could be a dead CMOS battery leading

You could try leaving the machine plugged into the AC mains, 
charging it over a night or two (which might charge the CMOS battery 
also).

You could also replace the CMOS battery with a new (charged) one.

You might also have to reset the CMOS memory by shorting the CMOS 
pins, as Jim <jep200404@example.com> has written on Thursday,
