- Subject: [tlug] Straming audio with Linux.
Hello, i would like to build up a streaming server with Linux. As I never did it before, I've looked for some tips on Internet and it seems that there are 3 alternatives: Shoutcast type (Icecast etc.) Real media server Quicktime media server Both Real media and quick time need the respective plugin or software, but what about Icecast? I would like the streaming audio be accessible by Windows media player too. In this case is Windows server the only alternative? I need also to have access restriction through certificate installation, did anyone ever deal with it? Regards Alex
