OS[sic] is GNU Emacs and it connected to htt over the net (running on Solaris IIRC). I didn't experiment further because native Canna for Japanese plus Quail for everything else is quite sufficient for me on XEmacs, and iiimf.el was pretty grossly dependent on GNU-ey features. Note I didn't say I had it running; I said it was usable, and was careful to point out that availability of language engines is the big issue. I don't know when it will be available for practical purposes on Debian, I wouldn't be surprised by "tomorrow" (in unstable or experimental), although I wouldn't bet on it. I would be surprised if it were more than 6-12 months to Debian unstable once Fedora has it. -- Institute of Policy and Planning Sciences http://turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp University of Tsukuba Tennodai 1-1-1 Tsukuba 305-8573 JAPAN Ask not how you can "do" free software business; ask what your business can "do for" free software.
