OS[sic] is GNU Emacs and it connected to htt over the net (running on
Solaris IIRC).  I didn't experiment further because native Canna for
Japanese plus Quail for everything else is quite sufficient for me on
XEmacs, and iiimf.el was pretty grossly dependent on GNU-ey features.

Note I didn't say I had it running; I said it was usable, and was
careful to point out that availability of language engines is the big
issue.  I don't know when it will be available for practical purposes
on Debian, I wouldn't be surprised by "tomorrow" (in unstable or
experimental), although I wouldn't bet on it.  I would be surprised if
it were more than 6-12 months to Debian unstable once Fedora has it.
