[tlug] Debian install and USB mouse

Has anyone who's done a recent install of Debian Stable or Testing
succeeded in getting a USB mouse configured in the installation process
itself (I haven't)?

There is plenty of material out there suggesting ways to fix
this after installation (like recompiling the kernel with USB mouse support,
etc.), but it would seem that USB meeses have been around long enough
the one should not have to go to that extent.
