[tlug] vi abbreviations

I am trying to get some abbreviations into my vim .exrc file. I figured 
out how to insert linefeeds but I can't figure out the syntax to 
position the cursor after the abbreviation has been inserted. Can anyone 
help out?

I'd like to have following abbreviated and the cursor positions at the * 
mark

myfunction () {
   *
}
