In my experience, ext3 is better than XFS in the small files department, and
better than Reiser in the large. But not by much.

I use ext3 because it is in stock kernels, and because I know a good bit
about ext2, so when the shit hits the fan, I am slightly less helpless than
I would be with Reiser or XFS.
