I tried this (and had to do ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" for 0.8.9) but I
still had the same results. HOWEVER, I found the problem: my font was
set to -sony-fixed-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-c-*-jisx0201.1976-0. This
did not work. When I changed it to
-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal-*-*-130-*-*-c-*-jisx0208.1983-0
everything displayed correctly.
