GOL seems a bit pricey, but good to know, if a more affordable one isn't found. Does NEC BigLobe/eAccess offer residential globally static IPs? From what I could find on google.com: http://www.biglobe.net/access/adsl/ Their high prices seem to be focused on business customers. Do you have a link to their residential offerrings? Plala.or.jp also offers dynamic DNS, which you a domain name like you.your-ISP-domain-name.co.jp, not your-domainname.com. I'm looking for the later, which a statically, routeable global provides, but mainly to run servers at home. So far, I've found: For 1 fixed, global IP address: Provider: monthly setup -------------- ------- ----- www.gol.com 6,700 8,000 www.tiki.ne.jp 4,800 2,800 www.wakwak.com 2,000 3,000 www.zero.ad.jp ??? ??? Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with the above or others that they can share? How's their service? customer support? How's the connection? Are they constant or do you experience connection outages? Do they block ports? portscan? Do they have a problem with their residential customers running servers? Do they encourage it? Thanks in advance, Frank References: http://home.gol.com/corporate/static_ip-e.html "GOL FLET'S ADSL 8M Static IP1 [setup] 8,000yen [monthly] 6,700yen" www.tiki.ne.jp is pricey too. (http://www.tiki.ne.jp/news/news020913_2.html: "Flets ADSL 1 IP - [monthly] 4,800[yen] [setup] 2,800[yen]" www.wakwak.com is looking better ttp://www.wakwak.com/adpls/index.html): "ADSL Series - [monthly] 2,000[yen] [setup] 3,000[yen]" http://www.zero.ad.jp/service/002_f.html - AFAICT no listed prices for static IPs
