[tlug] Trying to use Xandros samba.conf as template...

I have tried (and mostly failed) to get Samba to work correctly on RH
8.0 and came up with the idea of trying to copy most of the samba.conf
file from my laptop running Xandros 1.0.  The Xandros machine works just
fine with my W2K box but RH8.0 using Samba and LinNeighborhood still
doesn't work even when I use most of the same settings as in the Xandros
samba.conf file.  The Redhat box sees the Windows box but won't copy
from it and copies to it very slowly.  I suspect the difference is in
permissions but am not sure what I should be looking for.  Any
suggestions?

For what it is worth, I think Xandros makes Linux accessible to a much
broader group of people than do the mainstream distros.  I will keep
chipping away at Redhat because I want to learn how Linux is supposed to
work.  But when I want to work, I'll use Xandros or W2K.
