BCC to a lot of people :-) First the link: http://photos.yahoo.com/yamame2002/ Click the album called Q Baby Q (thanks to Scottro for the idea! :-) Depending on your browser you might not see the whole name, but it's the only album that starts with Q. Next the announcement: I'm officially a dad!!! My wife gave birth to our daughter two days ago. The details: Date: Nov. 16, 2002 Time: 10:15 AM Place: Saigon International Ob/Gyn Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam Weight: 4.000 kg (8 pounds, 12.8 oz.) Length: 52 cm (20.55 inches) Delivered by: Caesarean section Factoids: Largest baby born that day at SIH. The ultrasound tech said the night before she was born that her thigh bone was unusually long at 77.5 mm. We think she's going to be tall and long-legged :-) She sleeps very well, is very alert, and can track people with her eyes already. She's also very strong, she can really squeeze down on my pinky. As you can see from the pictures, she's got quite a head of hair for a newborn. The verdict on looks is that she has Thuy's eyes, nose, and ears, and my facial structure and hair. Her hair is brown and very fine. Last, the story: she wasn't due until next week, but when we went for the final checkup on Friday night, the doctor said Thuy's water was down to 3 cm (just over 1 inch) and it was dangerous to the baby to not give birth, so she checked into the hospital, did some tests, and around midnight they broke her water to induce labor. 9 hours later, she was still at only 2 cm dilation and really wanting to get it over with. They couldn't give her an epidural yet because they didn't know whether or not she would be able to delivery normally. 6 cm was the target dilation
