Re: [tlug] locale issues
Yes I try "jp_JP" it seems that the mandrake distribution uses "ja_Jp"
I ran into a little problem as I've set my locale to the following as
listed below I can no longer login as me "eric" into KDE. Once again
Gnome and any other GUI login is permitted but KDE GUI is broken.
LANG=en_US
LC_CTYPE=en_US
LC_NUMERIC=en_US
LC_TIMEen_US
LC_COLLATE=en_US
LC_MONETARY=en_US
LC_MESSAGES=en_US
LC_PAPER="en_US"
LC_NAME="en_US"
LC_ADDRESS="en_US"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US"
LC_ALL=
I have the .i18n file setup to follow above locale setup since the my
previous .i18n also broke.
Current .i18n file content
LC_MONETARY=en_US
LC_CTYPE=en_US
LC_NUMERIC=en_US
LC_MESSAGES=en_US
LANGUAGE=C
LC_TIME=en_US
LC_COLLATE=en_US
LANG=C
Previous .i18n (kde login permitted) with locales set to language=C Country=Japan Character set=iso-8859-1
LC_MONETARY=ja_JP
LC_CTYPE=ja
LC_NUMERIC=ja_JP
LC_MESSAGES=en_US
LANGUAGE=C
LC_TIME=en_US
LC_COLLATE=en_US
LANG=ja_JP
Please, Can anyone shed in some light here before I take the hammer and start pounding on the $##$@^@
Does anyone know why KDE will not permit one back into the GUI after a locale changes are made?
(Distro=Mandrake 8.2)
