Subscribing (or otherwise paying Red Hat) gets you faster downloads, because
you have access to separate servers that are reserved just for paying
customers. Therefore, the great unwashed masses cannot clog up the works. ;)

I do not think that Red Hat makes the public download slower, though, as that
would actually hurt them more than helping them (as most nag schemes do in the
end).
