do some google searches under any combination of "linux linus torvalds alan 
cox open source"

maybe look at http://www.linux.org.uk/

Trying to find information on something when you don't know much about it is 
always a pain. Hope the few seed google words will help. Just follow links 
at random and eventually you'll get some idea of who does what in the Linux 
community.
