Same HD (had a look just now). As for chipset don't know but I bought the
motherboards at the same time and they should be the same.

No other devices excpet for a cdrom and floppy, all the same.

There are some differences in /proc/ide/ide0 of the two machines. Here's a
digest, the most significant seems to be different driver numbers.
/proc/ide/ide0/config /mnt/floppy/ide0/config
slow:
>07 a3 07 a3 00 00 00 00 05 00 02 02 00 00 00 00
fast:
>07 a3 07 a3 00 00 00 00 05 00 01 02 00 00 00 00
/proc/ide/ide0/hda/driver /mnt/floppy/ide0/hda/driver
slow:
>ide-disk version 1.12
fast:
>ide-disk version 1.10
side /proc/ide/ide0/hda/settings /mnt/floppy/ide0/hda/settings
too many differences to list.
Why are the ide-disk versions different? This is really weird ...
