A question about RH's up2date utility.
I use up2date on my RH7.x systems periodically to collect and install
updated packages. It's fine on the RH7.2 one, but on the RH7.1 system,
it's stuck with a dependency problem.
A heap of rpm-related packages won't download and install. The error
message says:
perl-Perl-RPM 0.291-2 requires librpm.so.0
perl-Perl-RPM 0.291-2 requires librpmio.so.0
Now looking in /usr/lib, I see I have both of those. They are in fact
both symlinks to librpm.so.0.0.0 etc.
Is it telling me I need later versions of those libraries, or what?
Jim
