Hello, my name is Gunawan. I'm a new comer at this maillist. About 2 weeks ago, i decided to install Linux RedHat 7.1 and used dual booting for another OS (windows95). I didn't meet any trouble in the installation and setting up the KDE. For 2 weeks it goes normal till i see the problem when I type user name and enter button to login in the graphic mode. It is showed a crash window which is type "The application kdmgreet (kdmgreet) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)". I try to see the backtrace tab, but its contents something i don't know. Then i switch into text mode and login from text mode. i can login in, but still can't enter the KDE when I use startx program. This time the error is different from the first. It is type, "There was some error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was : Could not read network connection list. /root/.DOCPserver_gate-vhf_:0 Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running." Then i switch into text mode again and running dcopserver but it also encounter a problem that is $DISPLAY is not set. Does anyone could help me solving these problem ? I will be very thankful for that. I'm sorry for the length of this mail. Faithfully yours, Gunawan Wijaya Student of Electronic Engineering Department Institut Teknologi Bandung Bandung - Indonesia
