And unless guys like me use our crash boxes to test them, they will never
get better.  Since some GUI 's exist, that means there ARE linux users who
agree with me.   Otherwise, the answer would have been "there is no such
thing" and the thread would have ended there.  Instead there answer appears
to be "there are, but you're an idiot for being curious about them".

The first computer I worked on professionally: IBM 5100
http://www.geocities.com/~compcloset/ibm5100.htm .  No GUI and barely any
screen at all.  I'm not "new to DOS".  I can barely keep myself out the
Registry.  I've been learning the locations of documents on linux basics,
and I know eventually I'd get it all figured out.

However, the past eight years of computer evolution have been about moving
away from the command line.  All I'm asking is: Where is linux on this
issue?

Remember, this is my crash box we're talking about.  It really doesn't
matter what I run on it.  If it crashes, it crashes.  no big deal.
