By the way, those of you planning to use VMWare should definitely *not* use a ramdisk for /tmp. VMWare likes to write humongous files to /tmp for God knows what--swap, maybe. I don't know exactly what the requirement is, but even 250MB wasn't enough; I had to sacrifice a 2GB partition to it in order to get it to shut up. For everything except VMWare, though, I've rarely seen more than a few megabytes in /tmp at a time. Evil closed source, can't even hack it to use ~/tmp instead, yada yada yada. Shimpei.
