It is interesting how this happened. I was using Evolution in the Ximian desktop. All I wanted to do was change the font size for composing my outgoing mail. On the recommendations of the Evolution support people, I used the font preferences in the app, and it changed the fonts throughout the desktop. I had no idea that this would cause a problem, of course, until I tried to restart later on. > Hopefully that utility made a backup of the original so that all Chuck > has to do is restore it. Any Mandrake experts out there? No utility. Since I do have a command line, I figured I could TAR the vital directories, but for some reason, every time I try it with a directory that has more than a few files, it crashes halfway through. ....arghhh! But thanks, Jim. Eventually I'll get the hang of this. I am going to write to the Ximian people to scream now. Chuck
