So I guess it is purely samba's configuration problem BTW did you use any type of file name filter by any chance? [Code Page 932 is MS-DOS Japanese SJIS] I got some other questions for you as well Did you set your client code page directory correctly? if you set coding system = SJIS does it still has the same problem? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hal Nakajima" <nakajima@example.com> To: <tlug@example.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2001 4:54 PM Subject: Re: To let Samba copying Japanese files > Yes, we did. > hal > > > roylo wrote: > > > > Just a quick question, did you compilie your kernel with Japanese charsets > > into your native lang support? > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "Hal Nakajima" <nakajima@example.com> > > To: <tlug@example.com> > > Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2001 2:20 AM > > Subject: To let Samba copying Japanese files > > > > > Please somebody tell us how to set Samba to allow copying Japanese > > > files. > > > It does not allow certain Japanese characters to be copied. > > > > > > We tried to change the config to > > > > > > client code page = 932 > > > coding system = EUC > > > > > > Then we could copy all Japanese name files in Kanji and Hiragana but not > > > the files in Katakana. > > > > > > Thx a lot for your help. > > > > > > hal > > > > > > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > Next Technical Meeting: Sat, Sep 15 13:30- Leading Edge Co., Place > > Canada > > > Next Nomikai Meeting: Fri, Oct 19 19:30- Tengu Tokyo Eki-Mae > > > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan > > > > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Next Technical Meeting: Sat, Sep 15 13:30- Leading Edge Co., Place Canada > > Next Nomikai Meeting: Fri, Oct 19 19:30- Tengu Tokyo Eki-Mae > > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > > more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan > > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > Next Technical Meeting: Sat, Sep 15 13:30- Leading Edge Co., Place Canada > Next Nomikai Meeting: Fri, Oct 19 19:30- Tengu Tokyo Eki-Mae > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan
