It's not Red Hat.  This is a vanilla straight-from-Linus Ted Tso +
cast-o-000s e2fs, custom compiled.  And I use Debian, anyway.

Don't blame Red Hat for all kernel and library problems; they've been
known to fix some, on occasion.  It's the lust for GUI that fries the
brains of some of the better programmers on the planet.
