Evening, I'm trying to install xtt-fonts. [root@example.com lib]# apt-get install xtt-fonts Reading Package Lists... Done ... Unpacking xtt-fonts (from .../xtt-fonts_0.20010301-1_i386.deb) ... Setting up xtt-fonts (0.20010301-1) ... Package: xtt-fonts will be removed but dpkg is running, so waiting in background... Here it stops, so I run it again: [root@example.com lib]# apt-get install xtt-fonts ... Need to get 0B/5454B of archives. After unpacking 45.1kB will be used. dpkg: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/status' near line 13045 package `xtt-fonts': missing version W: Encountered status field in a non-version description W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these missing files E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2) To fix this I have to manually remove the corrupt info field from /var/lib/dpkg/status, otherwise dpkg will refuse to install anything from here on. I got the latest (v1.8.3.1) dpkg. Is this a BUG or a feature? ;-) -- B0Ti.
