Yes, no, yes, and yes, in that order.  Makers pay a lot of shekels to get
Losedoze drivers WRITTEN, not to get them working.  Linux depends on
talented amateurs.  As for which side, if either, gets drivers working
first, it depends on which side has more talent and which side's talent has
time for it.

Example of Linux outperforming Windows 2000:  Trident 9385 video adapter,
which was commonly used in notebooks several years ago.  Windows 2000 blue
screens unless you turn off Direct Draw.

3D?  Maybe Microsoft will catch up some day, maybe not.  If they do, then do
you suppose it'll be possible to use simulated 3D to simulate 2D on a chip
where Microsoft can't even handle 2D?

A lot of commercial operations fire their best talent because management
gets tired of being caught in their lies and incompentence.
