I take it you have an smtp acting as a smart relay host for your
workstation.  If so, look for this in your sendmail.cf (it's
probably commented out):

# "Smart" relay host (may be null)

And set it up like this, for your smtp server:

# "Smart" relay host (may be null)
DSyour.smtp.server.here
