ATA drives should never be used in applications that require reliability or survivability. Full stop. Don't judge a manufacturer on their ATA quality, as they're all pretty much crap across the board. On a tangent, how many professional sysadmins are actually reading this list? (Apart from me, Ayako, Dmytro, Scott, and Jonathan). I'd be interested to hear hardware horror stories ... -- Chris
