Getting suspend mode working in Linux...is it possible

Depends on your machine.  Unfortunately the APM BIOS is one of the
things that is least likely to be correct.  In case you haven't
noticed, the kernel is full of APM-related options almost none of
which are relevant to a standard-compliant APM BIOS.  I think things
may be better for the newer system (I forget what it's called).

Unfortunately, that's as much as I know; I don't find that feature all
that useful myself so I haven't worried about getting it working.
