And what's worse, Hotel is at Milpitas(30 HAYAKAWA> Ranch Drive Milpitas CA 95035) AND I don't have The HAYAKAWA> driver's license... Then you're basically hosed. Bus will be slow, probably 30-40 minutes, but still an order of magnitude faster than taking the train through San Francisco (I don't think there is a passenger link San Jose to Milpitas, it's on the wrong side of the Bay). The South Bay Light Rail may have been extended in that direction by now, but it sure wasn't last summer. I think the link to Santa Cruz is higher priority though. Best is to call, fax, or email the hotel and ask them. HAYAKAWA> 1) Where is the nearest BART's station from San HAYAKAWA> Francisco International Airport? Daly City, which is farther from the airport than Union Square. Cheapest from the airport is probably the bus, 45-55 minutes. I think SamTrans goes all the way to SF, but I don't recall. I don't recall where that line ends; you'll probably have to get another bus or taxi anyway. You can get the CalTrain at San Bruno or Millbrae, but this will cost more money and probably take more time than the bus, and leave you south of Market at 4th and Townsend. So you'll have to catch another bus to Union Square anyway. You can also take an airport limousine, basically a shared taxi, for about $15 IIRC. That will drop you wherever you ask pretty much, and Union Square is pretty central for the hotels. 30 minutes. HAYAKAWA> 2) To go to Milpitas' hotel, I'm going to Fremont by HAYAKAWA> BART at first. Is this the good choice? Probably. It's still going to be a long connect by bus. You might be better off taking the CalTrain to San Jose, and a bus from there. Ask the hotel. HAYAKAWA> 3) How to get to the hotel from BART's Fremont station? HAYAKAWA> 4) What is the fastest transportation from the convention center from the hotel? Rental car :-( Milpitas is about the worst possible place for you; there is some real public transport going north from Fremont toward Oakland/SF, but nothing toward San Jose AFAIK except local buses. HAYAKAWA> 5) What is the fastest transportation from the hotel to HAYAKAWA> San Francisco International Airport? How long time to HAYAKAWA> the airport?(I have to get on the plane at 11:35(UA)) Either the South Bay or East Bay airport limousine. There are many of these, it's probably $25 to $30 fare. They are quite reliable. Probably you should get the limo about 3 or 3.5 hours before your flight, my guess is that it will take about 1.5 hours from Milpitas, since there will be other pickups. Really, you should ask the hotel. They'll know. Maybe; almost everybody will be driving a car. How to get to the San Jose Convention Center by public transit is probably a question they are never asked. :-( This is California we're talking about, where the typical family has more vehicles than human members. -- University of Tsukuba Tennodai 1-1-1 Tsukuba 305-8573 JAPAN Institute of Policy and Planning Sciences Tel/fax: +81 (298) 53-5091 _________________ _________________ _________________ _________________ What are those straight lines for?
