I have this enshu class where we have to log in to the main server and the teacher checks attendance this way. ("w > attendance.txt" or something) Since I'm not planning to go to this class, I'm trying to figure out how to emulate my attendance ;-) The computerrom has yellow dog linux running on macs, and also winNT on sgi pcs, and the main server is running sgi irix. Login access is denied from every host except the machines of the computerroom. They changed this because last year I could happily log in from home. I thought about making a cron job that would log in before class and log out after, but dunno exactly what command to execute. Is it possible with telnet or only ssh? My second question is concerned with the linux running on those macintosh mashines. I have been looking at howtos and web pages, but still cannot figure out how to use that device which resembles to the pc mouse, but is rather ugly, useless and has only one button. My problem comes when I have to do the cut&paste operation with only one button. Question #3: I have a 108 key japanese keyboard with the M$ windows and menu buttons. Since the jp106 keymap that comes with most distros is not perfect, neither is it under X, so I made my own Xmodmap file a while ago. But it doesn't use the extra keys (M$ and the japanese conversion keys), so I'm looking for keymaps that do. Probably I'm not the only one with this type of keyboard, so there must be nice solutions. Also looking for xmodmaps for the jp macintosh keyboard (idiots tool #2, but let's not flame :).
