First of all, here is the *real* answer to your question:

http://www.mutt.org/

Not only is it a far better MUA than pine, it also has a Japanese patch
maintainer (Makoto Kikutani) who actually has a web page dedicated to it,
as opposed to the pine patch writer (whoever it may be) who has apparently
stopped working on it. It even has a pine emulation mode, although I
don't know how good it is.

Having gotten that out of the way, here is the *correct* answer to
your question (hopefully):

http://www2.gol.com/users/shimpei/pine3.96-ja-patch.tar.gz

These are patches to pine 3.96 that I just pulled out of an old source RPM
by LinuxPPC-JP. There are three patches inside: one that does the
Japanese stuff, one that claims to fix something related to sigchld,
and one patch that claims to be for PowerMacs. Looking at the patches,
though, I think the last one is a glibc patch, not PowerPC-specific, so you
should probably apply it as well.

I have no idea if these patches actually work, but have fun anyway.

Shimpei.
