I think you need to start canna first (/etc/rc.d/init.d/canna start (as root)) and then Kinput2 (kinput2 -canna (as yourself)). Try looking in /usr/doc for some brief info, and "man kinput2". I have had some difficulties in the past with these things, and found that having the right version is important. Experimenting with different RPM's usually solved it in the end. I was to lazy to find out the _real_ problem, though... > Also, do they need another program to do anything? Like Mule or > NEamcs? Not for them to work. But you might find something like that usueful for writing documents in Japanese. I use Xemacs with mule support. Together with Canna it works fine, here. > I've also heard that redhat has a Japanese version, but I can't find it > on their website. Is it there? Very good question, I happened to have a CDROM that I got from a magazine, but I have been unable to find any download sight for this version (RPM updates, etc.). Anybody knows? (If you (anybody) want access to this CDROM, just email me.) Hope this helps. ~ Hav. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Technical Meeting: March 11 (Sat) 13:00 Temple University Japan * Topic: "What's new in Perl 5.6" Guest speaker: Simon Cozens (TLUG Perl guru) Next Nomikai Meeting: April 21 (Fri) 19:00 Tengu TokyoEkiMae -------------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan
