You can add an entry to /etc/conf.modules to tell it what driver and
options to use: 

alias eth0  ne2k-pci
options eth0 io=0xd000 irq=9

Then try "modprobe eth0". It should load the driver or complain if it
can't. You might also check /var/log/messges. I am not sure a about
the options I show above... Hopefully someone can give you the
details...
