I still think pine is the best mail utility around.  If you want a nice
X-windows front-end, Applix works well for received mail - with a bit
of work you can get it to sort all of your mail into mailboxes as well.

Ditto on Eudora.   It's not bad for small files, but seems to choke up
whenever it has to pull in anything larger than 1Mb.
