Well its horses for courses, but I think the reality is that it is good 
enough for what most people actually use computers for.  My 6 year old 
daughter asks me for help with windows 7 but not so much with ubuntu. 
As much as everyone likes to hate the unity interface it is pretty easy 
for non technical users, IMNSHO more so then windows or osx ;)
