I've been running Linux on two different kinds of laptops for some 
time (presently Kubuntu): Fujitsu Lifebooks, and Dells of various 
sorts. The Fujitsu machines have always worked pretty well (except 
for WiFi) from the start. Dells, I always have to spend time 
configuring sound and video. NVidia is always a problem.
