For what it's worth, i use Xen for server virtualization, and VirtualBox 
for OS testing on my desktop. I played with VMware back in 2001 or 2002. 
It was nice, but the computers i had access to weren't quite powerful 
enough yet for virtualization to be worth the effort--it was easier just 
to get more boxes and run without virtualization.
