So I guess it is purely samba's configuration problem
BTW did you use any type of file name filter by any chance?

[Code Page 932 is MS-DOS Japanese SJIS]
I got some other questions for you as well

Did you set your client code page directory correctly?
if you set coding system = SJIS does it still has the same problem?
