tlug: Missing modversions.h ?

I'm trying to install VMWare (unfortunately, there is something I need
to run that only exists for TOOS or - in a flaky version - Solaris),
and during the install it has to rejigger itself to run with my
kernel (2.2.10), which it starts to do but winds up like this:

None of VMware's pre-built vmmon modules is suitable for your running kernel. Doyou want this script to try to build the vmmon module for your system (you need to have a C compiler installed on your system)? [yes]

What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]

Extracting the sources of the vmmon module.

Building the vmmon module.

I downloaded the kernel source from in case that file just
somehow came up missing in my RPM, but it doesn't appear to be in there
either. The only instance of a file like that seems to be this one:

Suggestions welcome.
