I'm sorry I can't be of actual _help_ (I don't have Star Office), but >>>>> "Eric" == Eric Standlee <fwiw3980@example.com> writes: Eric> I tried nothing and local host in the Star Office setup and Eric> it didn't work. It seems like Star Office only understands Eric> pop retrieval. I can't imagine that this would be true; that just doesn't make sense in a Unix environment. If it is true, they have shot themselves 40cm above the foot. But since you know it understands POP, why don't you install a POP3 client under inetd and then do echo 'in.pop3d: ALL' >> /etc/hosts.deny echo 'in.pop3d: localhost' >> /etc/hosts.allow (you'll have to figure out what the name of the POP daemon is; it might not be "in.pop3d", this is really silly on the part of tcp-wrappers, ought to be implemented by service not by daemon). The manipulation of host access is pure paranoia of course.... -- University of Tsukuba Tennodai 1-1-1 Tsukuba 305-8573 JAPAN Institute of Policy and Planning Sciences Tel/fax: +81 (298) 53-5091 __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ What are those two straight lines for?
