tlug: 2.2.0-pre? kernels on Sparc

Is anybody who has built a Linus-series 2.2.0-pre? kernel on the Sparc
willing to offer advice on this?

So far I've had to make a half-dozen obvious changes to header files
to use the "atomic_*" idioms, it looks like that kinda of thing is
gonna keep happening in dribs and drabs.

Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Should I use a different
"distribution" of kernel (eg VGER---if it's still Linux :-P )?

Looking ahead a bit, how about 2.1-pre? glibc? I hear it breaks C++
binaries, anybody know anything about this?

Steve
