However, in the original setting of this machine, the only IP was ever aware of it having is 202.238.0.248. Currently i'm waiting for my sysadmin - the guy who runs the nameserver - to confirm if i have the right nameserver number in my /etc/resolv.conf file correct. Actually, so long as i'm posting here, is there a way i can query the network to find out what the name server IP is on my network? I - or at least my linux server says this in the resolv.conf - think it's 202.238.0.1. What kind of command would i run to verify that this is indeed the nameserver? ________________________________ Dave Gutteridge 3D Computer Animation Specialist e-mail: dave@example.com http://www.d-rave.com ________________________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------- Next Technical Meeting: 12 December, 12:30 HSBC Securities Office Next Nomikai: 15 January 1999, 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 ---------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://tlug.linux.or.jp Sponsors: PHT, HSBC Securities
