Well, i'm not totally useless... i've figured out how to configure my POP and sendmail servers... mostly. I can send mail to my linux machine, and check my mail from it. So it's almost all done, But when i send mail FROM my user accounts on that machine, i get the following message: The recipient "my_friend@example.com" is not acceptable to your SMTP server. The message is not sendable until the recipient has been changed. This is very confusing. Why on Earth would my SMTP server not want me to send e-mail to people, or have any requirements about recipient addresses at all? Isn't the whole point of the thing to send mail to people? Please enlighten me. ________________________________ Dave Gutteridge 3D Computer Animation Specialist e-mail: dave@example.com http://www.d-rave.com ________________________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------- Next Technical Meeting: 12 December, 12:30 HSBC Securities Office Next Nomikai: 15 January 1999, 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 ---------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://tlug.linux.or.jp Sponsors: PHT, HSBC Securities
