COM1 == ttyS0 (cua0)
COM2 == ttyS1 (cua1)
COM3 == ttyS2 (cua2)
... and so forth.

cua* is old nomenclature.  I'd recommend making the symlinks to the ttyS*
devices, to make certain that things still work once you upgrade to a
kernel that does away with cua* compatibility entirely.

If desired, I can explain the difference between ttyS*, cua*, and why it's
desireable to use just one.
