To pick up from Steve Turnbull's response, my favorite Japanese word
in this context is: tachiyomi. <g>

I'm more than willing to pay inflated prices at Kinokuniya,
Maruzen, Yaesu Book Center, etc. because I know what I'm
getting.

I should also add that I buy a lot of cheap stuff unseen from
the States. Sometimes I have even been pleasantly surprised.
