The Maine Linux Users Group MELUG (my house is in Maine) is voting on a new
constitution next month. They are also in the process of electing officers for
the first time. There's also a debate under way about 'enticing' membership and
whether to start charging annual dues (US$10/year.) The constitution as written
so far can be viewed at
http://www.lily.org/melug/pages/constitution.html

There's a new LUG in New York that's dedicated to bringing Linux into the K-12
(kindergarten through 12th grade) arena. There's an active mailing list at
majordomo@example.com (lxk12@example.com) It seems the Board of Education is allowing
Linux installations in some parts of the school system. Teachers helping
teachers use Linux :)

The Silicon Valley LUG's mailing list continues to be a great source of
information (dangerWillRobinson - not a really newbie friendly list)
Majordomo@example.com Their web page is at http://www.svlug.org - it's pretty
cool, they've got a 'bot that trolls for Linux related stories then posts them
to the top page (I wish their webmaster would release the source; he says he
will when the coolness wears off.)

Yep, lots going on out there....

Regards,

Jim S.
Who's feeling much better this morning, thank you :)
