What you need to do is: 1. Install a glibc-based Linux distribution (well, you don't HAVE to, but you SHOULD :) ). ie, TL 2.0, RH 5.x, Debian 2.0 would all qualify. 2. Install egcs 1.1b. Install the libstdc++ that comes with. 3. Update binutils. (this is what you forgot before, I think). 4. Make sure you've eradicated libg++. 5.
