tlug: gimp

Since I switched to ja_JP.euc and kinput2, I haven't been able to use
gimp. I strace'd it and it complained about that and other things such
as:

-----Include errors-----
read(3, 0xbffff59c, 32) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)
select(4, [3], NULL, NULL, NULL) = 1 (in [3])
read(3, "\1)\"\0\4\0\0\0\17\0 \10\0\0\0\0"..., 32) = 32
readv(3, [{"@example.com=kinput2", 15}, {"e", 1}], 2) = 16
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) ---
write(1, "\n** ERROR **: sigsegv caught\n", 29
** ERROR **: sigsegv caught
) = 29
munmap(0x40164000, 4096) = 0
_exit(1) = ?
-----End Included errors-----

Also, I was wondering if anyone has used the M$ Publisher program and can
comment on whether gimp measures up to Publisher's capabilities (probably
could be worded better, please no flames). I am trying my darnedest to
get rid of Windoze. I even have a <marquee>Get rid of Windoze</marquee>
on my Active Desktop to remind me that I am having to use it again...
