That does sound like I think tjh (inter alia) is in favor of spew. Let me make clear that I consider myself to be an extremist on this issue (not the same as paranoid maniac, but not too different, either). I consider the discovery of a bug that would lead to spew in some circumstances a showstopper that should inhibit a release; my definition of "the other side" is "release and fix the bug asap, as long as the circumstances causing harmful spew are rare." The latter is an eminently reasonable position, but one I hope the Linux community will resist as long as possible.
