Re: tlug: Fine control over ftp



The most obvious reason is for account disabling. (at least obvious to me)

You disable an account, and the account is disabled, if you changed
shell to /bin/false so the guy couldn't log in, he couldn't ftp in
either.

Its considered a security feature.
