The CONFIG_PSMOUSE did it for the mouse (I didn't release I had a PS/2
mouse, thanks for that), but CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SR was already set. The
problem was the Adaptec driver.

I unpatched it (pre-release 12) and patched pre-release 6, which is more
stable, just in case anyone else out there has to go through this. It
now detects the CD-Rom and reliably boots.
